Doreen Consulmagno, LPC, LCADC, ACS.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and Approved Clinical Supervisor. For more than 30 years, I have provided therapy to children, adolescents, and adults, working across every level of mental health and substance use treatment. With over three decades of clinical experience and more than 15 years of supervising clinicians, I bring a seasoned, compassionate, and deeply informed perspective to my work.
I currently serve as the 2nd Vice President of ASAP‐NJ, the Association of Student Assistance Professionals. I also have a strong interest in the legal aspects of family transitions and am a trained divorce mediator through the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators
(NJAPM).
Throughout my career, I have taught as an adjunct professor and have presented at statewide conferences and school districts across New Jersey. My trainings have covered a wide range of topics, including teen suicide prevention, emerging teen trends, substance use trends, vaping, adult substance use disorders, DSM‐5 and levels of care, codependency, and anxiety.
I am honored to have received numerous recognitions for my work. These include ASAP‐NJ’s prestigious Jim Mulhern Award (2013), “Teacher of the Year” (2012–2013), “Educational Service Professional of the Year” (2018–2019 and 2023–2024), and the “Excellence in Clinical Supervision” award from the New Jersey Counseling Association in 2025.
